Cleaning Centennial Pond.
Vol. 3
10/22/2025
Heading back to the pond for the third time, and having just confirmed the adoption of the park, this would end up being a highly productive day for Baseline.
Having been given additional tools from the City of Englewood, I didn’t need to make any major upgrades to the setup. In fact, I was able to scrap a trunk divider from a local alleyway and clean it up. Now, with the additional grabbers, gloves, boots, buckets, strainers, garbage bags, etc. I’ve been able to fully load up the back of my SUV to be a mobile cleanup operation. On any given day, I’ve got what I need to help clean up a local park, and enough supplies to make up a team of 4 for future projects. Today was also the most waste collected to date at 20 Gallons of waste. And that’s excluding the bike tire, innertube, or the heavy duty elastic band that was pulled out of the adjacent Oxbow lake.
New waterfowl are visiting the area with the seasonal change. I’m not a wildlife photographer but I’m trying to get photos of any new wildlife I see. This week we have North American Coots in the pond.
Like I said, this wound up being a pretty big day. We haven’t even gone over the beaver-related activity/improvements made to the ground coverage. So more on that next time.
